Steve Barclay

Care homes across Fenland provide an incredibly important support to local residents and their families, so it was a pleasure to visit the Orchards Care Home in Wisbech to discuss current issues with Home Manger Sarah Watson and her team.

A specific issue faced across the care sector as a whole, and in many other local businesses, is the change to employers National Insurance introduced by the Government. This particularly hikes costs in businesses which need to employ large numbers of people as is the case when providing care services.

Thank you also to Miranda Robinson the Lifestyle Lead who showed me around other parts of the care home, including the much enjoyed outdoor area which is already a firm favourite with residents. It is great to see the team’s commitment to supporting those in need of care.
