Five years on from Brexit, we have greater control over our legislation, so more decisions can be made in Britain's interests. Here is a thread of just ten examples of areas of change:

1  Ensuing we can make the most of AI, avoiding the EU’s cumbersome top down approach to regulation.

2  Ending the flawed common agricultural payments system where half the money went to the 10% largest landowners without supporting better food production or the environment.

3 Ending the Common Fisheries Policy, and enabling British fishermen to catch 120,000 more tonnes of fish.

4 Autonomy on new trade deals, with opportunities for British businesses in fast growing markets, negotiating without the constraints of other EU national interests.

5  No longer paying the EU £12 billion a year in net financial contributions.

6 Ability to better protect our nature, such as marine protection areas in UK waters and specific changes like ending the fishing of Sandeels that were only fished by foreign boats - the number one priority of the RSPB..

7  Capitalising on scientific developments such as in gene editing to develop drought and disease resistant crops.

8  Avoided a payment of £6 billion into the Covid Recovery Fund, primarily aimed at rebuilding Spain and Italy.

9  Better leveraging our billions of £ of public procurement spending to benefit small business

10  Removal of state aid limits enabling new areas of growth including the creation of 10 new Free Ports, maximizing their benefits.

But, whilst we gained control of key aspects of legal immigration with Brexit, limitations remain as the failure to deport foreign criminals or stop small boat crossings show, as a result of our membership of the ECHR.

We now need to finish the job and leave the ECHR so we have full control of our borders and prevent the judicial activism of recent years.

Today the Chancellor delivered the Spring Forecast, and sadly it revealed that Labour’s anti-business tax and spend policies are continuing to damage our economy. Here’s three things we learnt:Firstly, the Government claims that growth is its "central mission”, yet they are failing.
