Opening up our waterways for local residents

We all know it is good for our health to be more active but many people don’t want to go to a gym. Locally we have a number of beautiful waterways but these are often closed to the public after highlighting this issue to the local drainage boards and working with the middle level commission, the footpath next to the waterways at Tydd St Giles and down to Foul Anchor was opened to the public which has proved a popular spot particularly with dog walkers.

I am continuing to work with the Environment Agency and others to open up footpaths which helps residents to stay active, walking outdoors is good for mental health and helps people to stay in touch with the wildlife and countryside which surrounds North East Cambridgeshire.
